Carolyn
Matheny, or CJ as she prefers to be called, began her love of
poetry by writing songs, some 30 years ago. This love affair
began with songs of praise and singing them in church while
playing an acoustical guitar.
“Where words become roses for the heart™,” which has
become CJ’s theme, was born out of her love of roses and her
love for words. This symbolic meaning is that roses have always
been the symbol of love.
CJ will be
publishing her own book of original poetry in the very near
future to be titled CJs Originals™ - Where Words Become Roses
for the Heart – Life’s Garden.
CJ has been
published in several Anthology volumes all published by the
Library of Congress, including:
Idyllic
Thoughts
The
Poetry Guild 1997
The
Solace of Night
International Library of Poetry 2002
Eternal
Portraits
International Library of Poetry 2003
In 2004, The Tampa Tribune
printed her poem The Holocaust – A Journey.
